During this workshop you’ll create your own handmade zine using experimental approaches to collage, composition and layout. Using a zine template, magazines, various papers, images, and typography all provided as part of the session, you’ll experiment by creating your own layouts inspired by change making narratives in a print format—imperfection is celebrated and encouraged!
Zines are publications with a history rooted in DIY cultures often used as a form of protest and self-expression, and created as a low-cost, low-tech alternative to mainstream publishing. This workshop will introduce the basics of zine-making using analogue media and encourages the use of playful and experimental techniques to create page layouts in your zine.
