Character in Motion

What goes into making believable stop motion characters? In this talk Laura will explain her process of designing and making puppets for her short film Brain Space. Stop motion is such a tactile medium and using different materials and lighting can help us to understand a characters emotions – Good design can tell the story for you.

Using behind the scenes images, concept art and finished clips, Laura will discuss how real world limitations can lead to creative innovation. She will explain how she overcame many hurdles involved in a production which spanned continents, took 5 years to make and led to a BAFTA longlisting.
