Sarah Boris

Artist & Designer

Sarah Boris is an artist whose practice spans sculpture, drawing, print, painting, and design. Her work often explores colour, familiar symbols alongside themes of identity and language.

One of her most recognised works is Fragile UK Flag (2015), a reimagining of the Union Jack using fragile tape and blue paper. Later recreated on cloth, the piece has been carried in marches across London and was included in the Design Museum’s exhibition Hope to Nope (2018), as well as The Right to Protest (2025) curated by the Museum of Unrest. Other major projects include her public art commission Heart Bench (2021), which reinterprets the universal heart symbol as a functional sculpture. Her artist books, such as Rainbow, Global Warming Anyone?, Le Théâtre Graphique, and After the Rain, further extend her interest in visual language and collective symbols.
