Foresso joins us as Product District Partner for 2024

A huge welcome to Foresso, Birmingham’s unique manufacturer of beautiful surfaces from unavoidable waste. Discover their commitment to ethical low carbon manufacturing.

Foresso is a manufacturer of surface materials made from wood waste. Although we only joined the city’s long manufacturing history 5 years ago, we’re delighted to be part of the vibrant design scene here and are glad to be partnering with BDF for the first time.

Our purpose is to produce beautiful things from unavoidable waste with as low an impact as possible. We are Living Wage Certified and operate a 4 day week, our supply chains are local, and our factory is powered by renewable energy.

The materials we make are designed for interior surfaces such as table tops, worktops, and furniture. As well as producing sheets we also make bespoke surfaces to order, cut and finished to fit individual projects for residential and commercial customers.

We work with everyone; from the world’s biggest brands to people giving their home a DIY refresh, and our hope is to give our customers a better connection with the materials that they use everyday.

Foresso was originally developed to create a circular economy for the country’s small woodworking businesses and to find a use that celebrates the oddities and diversity of each piece of timber. As a result each sheet of Foresso is unique and finished by hand.

One of our founders, Conor Taylor, will be giving a talk about the product’s development and the company’s ethos to give a behind the scenes look at growing an SME in Birmingham. Sat 8th at 12 noon at STEAMhouse.
