Creating with data in a ‘post-infographic’ world
About 15 years ago, data visualisation and infographics transformed the media landscape and have now become a staple of mass communication. As this field has evolved, where can we go next, and how will we get there?
This talk will outline how we can redefine the boundaries of data as a design medium, creating a world where data is not only used to inform but is also used to inspire or engage.
Stefanie will draw on examples from her practice to explore what a ‘post-infographic’ design approach might look like, where data is not merely visualized but instead – through creatively challenging traditional data visualisation methods – becomes an artistic material, an emotional journey, a catalyst for community dialogue, and much, much more.
