Mazahir, having no prior education in the arts, started his illustration career four years ago and has cultivated a specialised skill set from the ground up in short time.

Utilising his background in literature and creative writing, he focuses on creating literary and romantic fantasy as segway to depict a representation for brown queer men.

In the span of his career he has worked with queer clothing brands, delivered talks on the Tate centres around his practice and most recently finished a residency in California.

From utilising paper textures to making his own brushes, come see Mazahir’s process through Procreate in real time, as he talks through just how he makes his fairy tale scenes and why the subject of queer myths helped him boost his online presence.
