Nick Asbury

Design writer

Nick Asbury is a writer for branding and design. Recent projects include Sideways Dictionary (a dictionary explaining technology using analogies, created with Google); Dear World, Yours Cambridge (a fundraising campaign for Cambridge University led by Johnson Banks); and branding work for National Autistic Society, Mozilla, Generation Press and others. His personal projects include Perpetual Disappointments Diary (a downbeat appointments diary, published by Pan Macmillan), Corpoetics (corporate copy rearranged into verse), and Realtime Notes (Instagram poems written in rapid response to current events). He is one of 53 writers featured in The Copy Book: How some of the best advertising writers in the world write their advertising (D&AD/Taschen). In 2016, he co-authored the updated edition of A Smile in the Mind: Witty thinking in Graphic Design. He writes frequently for Creative Review.
