Things to consider

Theme for 2026 – ‘Change’

The annual theme for each year’s festival plays an important part in how we curate the line-up, so we like to keep them intentionally broad and open to interpretation.

Whilst talks don’t need to be overtly about the theme, its sensible to consider how you or your work relate to it.

Inclusion matters

We want our festival line-up to be representative of a diverse industry of talented folks from every background. We highly encourage applications from underrepresented groups in the design community.

What does speaking at BDF look like?

Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or a total newbie, please take a look at this handy guide we’ve put together to help set the scene for speaking at the festival

What are we looking for?

BDF covers a broad range of subjects across multiple disciplines. We appreciate it’s hard to know if your skill set fits in with our programme, so here’s a list of what you can expect to find in each Design District and other topics that might be covered at the festival.

This is by no means a definitive list, but hopefully gives you a good example of the types of things you can submit.
