Volunteer at BDF 2025
If you’re over 18 and have an interest in supporting the festival and creative events in Birmingham then volunteering is definitely for you.
Applications are now open for 2025 and close on March 31st.
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at Birmingham Design Conference 2025.
This is your opportunity to be part of the BDF team, engage with incredible designers and tell people you were part of something awesome.
To volunteer at BDF 2025 we need you to be:
- Over 18
- Available for at least 8 hours during the Conference (12th-13th June 2025)
- We may also require some volunteers to be available on Saturday 7th June and Saturday 14th June for setup and pack down.
- Be able to attend a training session in May (dates TBC)
We see volunteering as a great opportunity for students but equally this gig is for anyone who wants to be involved and has a good work ethic.
As part of the experience you’ll get a kick-ass goodie bag, hang out with some top design pros (not just the BDF team) and make great friends with your fellow volunteers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does volunteering involve?
Depending on the day you could be packing goodie bags, helping decorate the venues, welcoming guests, supporting speakers and generally helping the BDF team run an awesome show.
Who else will be volunteering?
Our volunteer team typically consists of students and friendly local designers looking to support the festival, plus the BDF team and friends.
What does training consist of?
We get everyone together to meet for the first time and talk about how the festival runs, important things to remember for this year, codes of conduct and important safety information.
Will I get to watch the talks?
There will absolutely be space to watch the talks either passively whilst working a shift or when you’re not ‘working’. We try to accommodate any requests to watch particular talks in the programme if you think you may be unable due to your placement.
