We’re excited to welcome back District Partner and long-term supporter Substrakt to BDF2026!
As a digital agency deeply rooted in the arts and culture sector, Substrakt is proud to continue their long-standing relationship with Birmingham Design Festival as a District Partner.
Continuing our support for Birmingham Design Festival
We’ve supported Birmingham Design Festival for a number of years now, and we’re really pleased to be involved again this year. It’s also close to home for us – BDF co-founder Dan Alcorn is our Design Lead at Substrakt, so we’ve had a long-standing connection to the festival both as a team and as individuals.
Substrakt is a digital agency specialising in the arts and culture sector. We work with over 90 cultural organisations across Europe and North America, helping them improve how people discover, engage with and book cultural experiences.
Alongside that, we offer our clients strategic support around things like content, analytics, user research and branding – helping teams make better decisions about their digital work over time.
Our clients include the National Theatre, Southbank Centre, Shakespeare’s Globe, PAC NYC, Folger Shakespeare Library, Massey Hall, the Neon Museum and lots more.
At the heart of our approach is a commitment to accessibility, sustainability and long-term impact. We focus on creating digital products that are not only well-designed and technically robust, but that also help organisations better understand and serve their audiences over time.
We’re also a certified B Corp™, which reflects how we try to run the company, being mindful about impact and trying to keep improving how we work.
“It’s brilliant to be supporting Birmingham Design Festival again this year. We’ve been involved for many years now and it’s become a real fixture in our calendar – not just as supporters, but as attendees and participants in the wider design conversations that the festival enables.
The festival brings people together in a way that feels open, generous and energising. We’re especially proud of the connection between Substrakt and BDF through Dan, and the shared commitment to design as a core enabler of cultural engagement.
We’re really looking forward to another year of brilliant talks, ideas and conversations in Birmingham.”
