We are thrilled to announce Monotype will return as a District Partner for this year’s festival. Typography is everywhere, emotional, and evocative. With innovative font tools and community-focused expertise, Monotype empowers creatives to express brand authenticity easily and intuitively.
Type and design go hand in hand in the bold and imaginative world of branding. Monotype supports the design community with industry-leading design assets, technology, and expertise to elevate brand expression and engagement.
“Creatives thrive on inspiration, and it’s design-driven events just like these that help fuel us. Very much looking forward to connecting with creative thinkers from all aspects of design at BDF 2024.”
– Graham Sturt, Head of Creative, Monotype
On Thursday, 6th June at BDF, Monotype’s own Design Team Lead, Marie Boulanger, will give a talk titled “Kerning, Spacing, Leading the Way”. Showcasing real-world insights from custom type projects, Marie will unpack her design process from development to deliverable.
As any artist knows, the design process is a craft in itself. It can feel abstract and exciting, packed with space for creative and strategic vision. From conceptualisation to refinement, the design process serves as a sort of canvas for creative action. Workshops like these which focus on both aspects are key for staying competitive and innovative.
“We are beyond excited to be returning to BDF 2024, celebrating with the joy of type, engaging with the creative community and meeting design students!”
– Marie Boulanger, Design Team Lead, Monotype.
A global company of over 700 people working across 13 countries, including a UK office in Shoreditch, London, Monotype harnesses technological developments and international foundry relations to continually support the wider design community. Forever celebrating thought leadership in all things type, from product to process, Monotype also curates spaces for the public to connect with type movements through podcasts, events and their annual type trends report.
