Announcing the welcome return of our Graphic District partner Birmingham City University

We are delighted to announce that BCU and their Faculty of Arts, Design and Media will again be sponsoring the Graphic District this year.

Birmingham City University’s (BCU) Faculty of Arts, Design and Media (ADM) has a long standing and much celebrated relationship with Birmingham Design Festival.

The Faculty’s sites play host to many of the festivals events and seminars including a series of BDF related exhibitions showcased throughout the University. Students and staff also engage in live projects which actively contribute towards content for the festival and align with the key themes.

Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media Sara Harris said:

“We’re excited to collaborate with Birmingham Design Festival this year and align the dates with ADM’s Inspired Festival. Our students have so many opportunities to be involved, including volunteering and attending events with excellent speakers. It’s great to work with a festival which is not only committed to celebrating design but holds such high production values in designing events that inspire and motivate its audience.”

ADM’s very own Inspired Festival is also strategically scheduled to overlap with BDF and a number of key events engage with shared audiences offering visitors a range of experiences relating to design practice. This includes ADM’s Inspired Family day on 11th June, whereby a younger audience will be able to engage with fun workshops throughout ADM and also experience elements of BDF which will be running at the same time.

Celebrating exciting new student talent emerging from BCUs Faculty of Arts, Design and Media, the Inspired 2022 Festival offers a window into the future of the creative industries.

This year’s festival will showcase work on static and digital billboards across the city as well as across the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media sites.
