Glass Artist
Allister Malcolm is one of the UK’s most reputable glass artists. Over three decades he has become renowned for his skill and diversity. Based at Stourbridge Glass Museum his independent hot glass studio creates an ever evolving portfolio of creations. As an artist he consistently pushes himself. Allister specialises in creating custom made pieces for an array of impressive clients. Judging by the Premier league football clubs, film production companies looking for props and private clients acquiring his unique pieces it is evident Allister thrives on a challenge. His glass art is highly sought after with pieces in museum collections in the UK, Europe and the USA. As a Trustee of the British Glass Foundation Allister played a pivotal part in ensuring Stourbridge Glass Museum was formed and opened successfully in 2022. Most recently he was awarded freedom of the City of London with the Worshipful Company Of Glass Sellers. Allister appeared on Quest Salvage Hunters; The Restorers as a Glass expert and also as a Mentor on BBC’s Make It At Market. In the latter series he helped launch the careers of 4 four glass artists. His work has attracted an ever increasing number of followers on social media. He is now considered to be a pioneer within his field as being the first to establish an all electric production hot shop running on 100% renewable energy. He has generously shared publicly all his findings inspiring many to follow in his path in an aim towards Net Zero.
