HND Graphic Design students break the rules and challenge your thinking with an exhibition during the week of Birmingham Design Festival. If you plan to visit any of the fantastic events, talks, workshops and exhibitions hosted during the Festival, make sure you check out the no-set.format exhibition, at Quantum Exhibition Centre. Running from 7th-10th June, HND students from BMET have created artwork that has a powerful and compelling narrative behind it, ranging from social commentary to current affairs.

Although this may not be what you’d expect from Graphic Designers, Tom McElroy 2nd Year HND Graphic Designer says, “Whatever it is we create we always make sure that the art has reasoning behind it. Graphic Design aims to communicate a message and that’s exactly what you’ll see here at no-set.format” Based in the FEED Studio at Millennium Point, they are a group of diverse students of different ages and ethnic backgrounds. Neeraj Kainth ,1st Year HND Graphic Designer says, “we work in different mediums such as animation, print, sculpture and many other art forms and all of our work is a personal journey.” Exhibits include commentary on mass surveillance, Chernobyl and generational differences and prompt visitors to contemplate the definition of Graphic Design.
