The first of three very special ensemble evening events in the Graphic District. This, our opening night, features an awesome-foursome comprised of the very cream of the crop. These practising designers all exude passion in their work and have a shared love of print. No, we honestly can’t quite believe we’ve managed to persuade them to come either!
Kicking things off we have Rejane Dal Bello – founder of a graphic design studio based in London who specialise in brand identity, illustration, and editorial for national and international clients focusing on the Corporate, Cultural & Non-Profit sectors. Originally from Brazil, she began her career working for renowned branding & design agencies all over the world, including Studio Dumbar (NL) and Wolff Olins (UK) and was responsible for that amazing Alzheimer identity.
Next up is Barnsley’s finest export, Craig Oldham. Known for his frankness, humour and razor sharp insight – not to mention an amazing body of work including some stunning books – expect Craig to lay down some truth and wisdom. He describes himself as a ‘Designer, Educator, Writer, Procrastinator, Artist, Publisher, Film-maker, Philanthropist, Intervenor, Letter-writer, Theorist, Website-Up-Putter, Lamenter, Conspiracist, and Yorkshireman’ ..so expect the unexpected!
After the break, we’re delighted to be bringing you Astrid Stavro – renowned co-founder and creative director of Atlas, a design consultancy with oﬃces in New York and Palma de Mallorca. Atlas delivers creative thinking and world-class design across a wide range of disciplines for clients across the globe and was responsible for the much loved 2014 re-design of Elephant Magazine. It’s also an open secret that Astrid is also one of the loveliest people in the industry <3
Last but not least we have UK based legend Anthony Burrill. Graphic artist, print-maker and designer, AB is known for his persuasive, up-beat style of communication and his advice graces walls around the world. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York and has been exhibited in galleries around the world including the Barbican Art Gallery, the Walker Art Center and the Design Museum, London.
All of this print-based joy will be marshalled by the very capable Darren Wall (a man no stranger to print, responsible not only for fantastic publishing outfit ROM books, but also some of the most successful printed kickstarter campaigns) who is flying in from Barcelona to be with us.
